My name is Lisa Robinson, and I am the Deputy Manager and SENCo at The Diamond Centre, Chestnut Nursery in Sprowston, Norwich. I have been working with children and families since the year 2000, nearly 26 years! I started my career as a family support worker then progressed through the years to art and play therapist, teaching assistant and my most recent role as a practitioner. I began working at The Diamond Centre in 2022 as a Level 3 practitioner, progressing to senior lead a year later. When I was offered the opportunity to study for the role as SENCo I happily applied for the position, completing my Level 3 Special Educational Needs Co Ordinator qualification with Norfolk County Council in 2024. Working with young children has given me the opportunity to explore their way of thinking, looking at the world from a much simpler and happier viewpoint, not being afraid of getting wet or muddy but just losing yourself in the pure joy of learning through play. My role involves allowing the children to have the freedom and confidence to develop their own learning journeys whilst making friends and connections along the way.
