I began my childcare career in 2012 after having my own family. I qualified with a Diploma Level 3 Early Years Educator. I first became a manager in 2015 in a small village pre-school where my own children attended. I have had a wealth of experience managing different nurseries, being able to help children develop and be fortunate enough to really make a difference to their families too. It is the small achievements the children make that reinstates every day why I chose this career. Seeing a child’s eyes light up when they realise they have built the tallest tower or remembered a nursery rhyme is very special. I have just begun my journey with Chestnut Nursery School and already feel part of a very unique family that always puts the child’s needs first.

From a very young age I have always had a passion to work with children, particularly 0-5 years old, so I was always confident I would pursue a career within the childcare sector. I began my journey back in 2013 at a local nursery, after completing my Level 3 Diploma at College. Over the years, I then progressed in becoming a Room Lead in the Toddler Room, in which I thoroughly enjoyed being given more responsibility, supporting the team within my room, and ensuring the children were given the best opportunities for their development. I then moved onto explore a new role within children services, supporting families on a day-to-day basis. After some time, I realised how much I missed being in a nursery environment, supporting the children with their daily care, providing such fun and inviting activities to promote their development and growth, as the early years of a child are vital. With this, I joined Chestnut Nursery School Taverham in 2022, working within the 0-2 room as Room Lead, and shortly after progressing to Senior Lead, supporting the management team more, which I enjoyed. Now that I have progressed to Deputy Manager, I am so proud to be a part of such a brilliant team, with the home from home feel creating such a lovely environment.
