Woodford Green
Chestnut Nursery School Ray Lodge is a fantastic nursery nestled away in a quiet area of Woodford Green. We have three classrooms: a baby room, toddler room and a pre school room. We have two large outdoor areas, one of these areas is a dedicated space for the babies, that has a sheltered section so the children can explore outside in all weathers. The other outdoor area is a shared garden for the toddler room and the pre-school room. It is important for children to access the outdoors daily, so we offer a free flow approach to learning. Throughout the day, the children can make their own choices if they would like to explore inside or outside in the garden. Our gardens have the same level of learning opportunities as inside, as well as having weekly Forest school sessions - this enables the children to learn about the word we live in.
We also have a sensory area called The Zen Zone; small groups of children explore this area throughout the week. We focus on our self-regulation, developing our listening and attention skills, as well as exploring our sensory resources. The Zen Zone is used to support children with additional needs and to support children to settle into nursery. Our Zen Zone is also available to parents upon drop off and collection to facilitate the individual care routines.
Book VisitI have been working within childcare for most of my life, in many different roles. I have a CACHE level 3 and I have an Early Childhood Studies Degree. During my degree, I was able to expand my knowledge regarding child development and was given the opportunity to do voluntary work in children’s homes in India, which is where I completed my research for my dissertation. I have been with Chestnut Nursery School since 2015 and I have worked my way up to management. I feel these opportunities have provided me with hands-on, practical skills, as well as the theoretical side to be able to mentor and guide my team today. I also love ensuring a strong and solid parent partnership is created in order for children to achieve their full potential. I enjoy working here at Chestnut Nursery School and I am excited to create another diverse, happy, healthy and safe environment for children as well as the team, to see them flourish.

Hi, my name is Leticia. I have been working for Chestnut Nursery Schools since 2019. I hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification. I have over 10 years of experience in childcare, working with children of all ages. I feel privileged to be able to watch and support children’s development, watching them grow and blossom into young individuals and working alongside parents and carers, building that great parent partnership. It is important to put a child's emotional needs first, making them feel safe, secure and understood while in our care every day. I believe if there is a good input there will always be a good output.
