This month at Chestnut Nursery School Chestnut Avenue, the toddlers have enjoyed participating in a variety of activities in relation to our book of the month ‘The Enormous Turnip'.
 
They enjoyed working with lots of textures to create the wall display and displayed good vocabulary when describing what the materials felt like ‘bumpy, soft, hard, and tickly'. Children also took part in raw veg fruit printing, using different types of vegetable to print onto their craft paper. This was then followed by a tasting and vegetable naming activity. Lots of opportunities for sharing their own versions of the story with good role play and story sequencing demonstrated by the children!
