As part of our learning based on the Rainbow Fish story, children at Chestnut Nursery School Chestnut Avenue enjoyed creating their own crabs using decorative icing, natural fruit sticks and cereal for facial details.
 
Children did well using their physical skills to spread the icing and pull the length of the fruit stick. Lots of language displayed during this activity as children engaged in conversations with both peers and adults alike based on mathematical context (counting the legs/length) as well as developing vocabulary and their knowledge/understanding of sea life all around us.
